The inaugural tournament was held at Hampton SHS on Sunday
13 April 2003. 47 participants from TMAC and Kalamunda enjoyed

The Role of Colour in Senjo. (Continued)
By Kyoshi Justin Boylan
Throughout time and space colour has been recognized as
a strong power, an influence on life, and a vital force.
The ancient Egyptians were conscious of this and in their
great temples and wisdom schools such as Karnak and Thebes,
certain parts of the buildings were set apart as colour halls,
where the effects of colour vibrations were minutely studied
and applied.
The Indian and Chinese mystic scientists also had knowledge
of colour in their secret doctrine.
The masses were never taught the full esoteric doctrine
of light and colour, but were given only as much as they
could assimilate.
"I will meet you under the rainbow".
White light represents the source, the centre, and in Senjo
philosophy, the Shogun.
White light is the primal fire, which infuses everything
with colour. As a glass prism refracts white light into seven
major colours, so the position of Shogun reaches out and
is absorbed. The colours (for no one is just one colour)
which are reflected back, make up that person's character
from the physical, mental and spiritual levels.
One of Senjo's many aims are to help people balance their "reflection" to
the point where they reflect all the colours. At this point
they really reflect the colour white, they have become their
own source, their own Shogun.
To be continued ..
Zen Do Kai Kids' Tournament
participants Sunday 13 April 2003 at Hampton SHS
If you failed at a recent belt grading - don't give up..... These
people didn't.
R.H.Macy failed 7 times before his store in New York caught
on.
Novelist John Creasey got 753 rejection slips before he
published the first of his 564 books.
Thomas Edison was thrown out of school in the early grades
when the teachers decided that he could not do the work.
Harry S. Truman failed as a haberdasher.
When Bob Dylan performed at a high school talent show, his
classmates booed him off the stage.
Personal Kata Requirements
Students going for Green Belt are expected to perform a
20 second free form kata; Brown Belt a kata of 40 seconds,
and; Black Belt a kata of 60 seconds beginning and ending
at the one point.
By Black Belt, the kata should have a centre run (of 20
seconds), a series of angular attacks and defences (20 seconds)
and what I call show-time (20 seconds).
This last section is where we demonstrate our advances moves
designed to both impress the graders and be in line with
our current level of thinking.
